Protecting IP effectively requires strong partnerships. Since launching, TikTok has joined forces with organizations and brands around the world to support IPR efforts and together create a more secure and responsible digital space.
- In January 2025, TikTok and TikTok Shop shared our efforts to protect intellectual property rights on TikTok at the Digital Intellectual Property Protection Seminar held in Kuala Lumpur. This event involved more than 200 government officials and industry partners from Astro, EPL, and the Asia Video Industry Association.
- In May 2025, TikTok and the International Trademark Association (INTA) launched a year-long campaign to empower young shoppers with the knowledge they need to make mindful purchasing decisions and understand the serious risks linked to counterfeit goods. Through a series of engaging TikTok videos and articles released throughout the year, the Unreal campaign sheds light on the risks of buying fake goods.
- In July 2025, TikTok supported Unifab with their consumer awareness campaign on counterfeiting “La contrefaçon dupe. Les vrais produits ont une histoire.” (“Counterfeits trick you. Genuine products have a real past.”)
In 2026, we’ll continue to deepen our collaboration with rightsholders, industry coalitions, third-party vendors, and law enforcement agencies; scale targeted learning; and invest in AI-driven detection, data analytics, and enforcement tools. Doing so will allow us to stay ahead of emerging infringement trends, set new standards for transparency and accountability, and elevate a culture of respect for IP among our community.
